MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — In a surprising turn of events, 55-year-old Gregory York has surrendered himself to authorities at the Mobile Metro Jail for his involvement in a tragic May homicide on Gaston Street, according to the Mobile Police Department.
A recent MPD news release disclosed that York voluntarily turned himself in on Wednesday, marking a significant development in the ongoing investigation.
On the fateful day of May 16, law enforcement officers responded to a distressing call in the 300 block of Gaston Street, reporting a shooting incident that left the community in shock and mourning.

Upon arrival, officers discovered 45-year-old Christopher Robinson outside the residence, suffering from a critical gunshot wound. Immediate medical attention was provided, and Robinson was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
However, despite the best efforts of medical personnel, Robinson tragically succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a grieving family and community.
