Accident – Death – Obituary News :

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – In a shocking turn of events, Evelyn Odom and Ulyster Sanders have been identified as the suspects charged with murder in connection to the death of their 5-year-old daughter, Kenyatta “Keke” Odom, previously known as Baby Jane Doe.

The case of Baby Jane Doe had remained unsolved for 35 years, with no arrests and no identity of the victim. However, recent developments have led to Evelyn and Sanders facing murder charges in relation to their daughter’s tragic death. Kenyatta “Keke” Odom’s remains were discovered in the woods, encased in a television cabinet filled with concrete.

During a bond hearing held on Tuesday, June 11, the judge refrained from making a ruling. Consequently, the bond hearing will need to be rescheduled, and the suspects will have to await a trial date. Notably, Evelyn was not present at the last hearing, prompting her attorney to file for her presence at all future proceedings.

For years, the identity of Keke remained a mystery. It was only through the discovery of an Albany Herald newspaper near the TV that investigators were able to establish a connection to Albany.

Evelyn Odom’s attorney revealed that back in February 2024, they waived the arraignment but submitted a plea of not guilty on Odom’s behalf.

As for Ulyster Sanders, the most recent filing in his case dates back to May, when a certificate of review was submitted. WALB has reached out to Sanders’ counsel for any updates on his legal proceedings.
