June 3

Stolen vehicle: On the morning of June 3, officers in Springfield, UK, received a report of a stolen Nissan Altima being driven on Baltimore Pike near Saxer Avenue. The vehicle was stopped, and the driver, identified as Daniel Harris, 22, from Drexel Hill, was found to be in possession of the stolen vehicle, which was confirmed to have been taken from Philadelphia. Harris was arrested and charged with receiving stolen property.

June 4

Retail theft: In the afternoon of June 4, the Giant store in the 700 block of West Sproul Road reported a male suspect stealing merchandise and leaving the store. The suspect was apprehended at a nearby bus stop, and the stolen merchandise was recovered. The individual will face charges of retail theft.

June 5

Pot of pot: During a routine traffic stop on the first block of Baltimore Pike, officers in Springfield, UK, discovered a vehicle with illegal equipment. Upon further inspection, Officer Bergman found suspected marijuana inside the vehicle, and the driver, a 23-year-old man from Philadelphia, surrendered two baggies of marijuana. A search of the vehicle led to the seizure of over 1 pound of marijuana. The investigation is ongoing.

Burglary: Later on June 5, officers responded to a report of two unwanted individuals inside a house on the 400 block of North State Road. The suspects, identified as Oscar Alvarez, 36, and Rolando Ortiz, 29, both from Philadelphia, were found to have entered the property under the guise of performing roof work and had stolen items, including a firearm and a microwave oven. They were arrested and charged with burglary.

June 6

Vandalism: A resident on the 200 block of Welsh Drive reported vandalism to her vehicle, with the rear window being smashed by unknown means in the evening of June 6.

June 7

Barricaded subject: In the early hours of June 7, officers in Springfield, UK, assisted Marple police in apprehending a male suspect who had threatened a business employee in Marple and barricaded himself inside a house on Buttonwood Drive. The Central Delaware County Tactical Response Team successfully apprehended the suspect, who was turned over to Marple police.

June 8

DUI: Shortly after 3 a.m. on June 8, officers stopped a vehicle on State Road near Collins Drive that was flagged in a stolen vehicle database. The 51-year-old driver from Brookhaven was suspected of driving under the influence and was taken into custody for further testing.

Public drunkenness: In the evening of June 8, a 49-year-old man from Springfield was found unconscious on a bench at the Springfield Shopping Center on West Sproul Road. Upon awakening, he was arrested for public drunkenness due to intoxication.

June 9

Retail theft: Just before 7 p.m. on June 9, officers responded to a report of theft at Target in Springfield Mall. A male and female were caught wheeling shopping carts full of merchandise out of the store without payment. The male suspect managed to escape, but the female, a 25-year-old from Philadelphia, was apprehended with stolen merchandise valued at close to £500. She was found to have an arrest warrant from Montgomery County and was handed over to the authorities.
