Police search woods baby Kentucky 8-month-old arrested.
Accident – Death – Obituary News : Kentucky State Police conducted a thorough search of a wooded area near the home of missing 8-month-old Miya Tucker on Tuesday, utilizing cadaver dogs in their efforts. However, as nightfall approached, no significant discoveries were reported.
In an interview with NBC affiliate WFIE of nearby Evansville, Indiana, Kentucky State Police Trooper Corey King emphasized that there is currently no evidence to suggest that Miya is deceased. However, there is also no evidence to indicate that she is still alive, leaving the situation shrouded in uncertainty.
The individuals closely associated with Miya, including her parents Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, grandparents Billie J. Smith and Ricky J. Smith, and another individual named Timothy L. Roach, have all been taken into custody by authorities working on the case. Roach, who hails from Owensboro, is the only one among them not from the Reynolds Station area.
Legal representation for the suspects remains unclear at this time, as the public defender for the area has not yet responded to requests for comment. Some of the individuals were seen in court on Monday, with further court appearances scheduled for Wednesday.
The arrests of Miya’s parents and grandfather were announced by state police on Thursday. They were taken into custody on charges related to child abandonment and fentanyl. Trooper King revealed that the parents were located at a Motel 6 in Kentucky, where drugs, including fentanyl pills and methamphetamine, were found in plain view. However, Miya was not present at the scene.
Miya’s grandmother was also arrested on Sunday due to an active domestic violence warrant. During the course of the investigation at her residence, Roach was observed discarding “unprescribed” drugs under his vehicle, leading to his arrest for possession of a controlled substance. The exact connection between Roach and the family remains unclear.
According to King, a family member indicated that Miya had not been seen since late April. He expressed disappointment that those closest to Miya had provided limited information to aid in the search efforts. It was revealed that when Miya was born in October, her umbilical cord tested positive for methamphetamine. State authorities had previously removed Miya’s three older siblings from the household due to alleged drug-related concerns.
The state Cabinet for Health and Family Services had planned to remove Miya from the household as well, although her parents claimed she had already been taken by the cabinet. King clarified that this was not the case.
Despite the challenges and uncertainties surrounding Miya’s disappearance, investigators are holding out hope for a positive outcome. However, King cautioned that as time passes, the likelihood of a tragic outcome increases. The search for Miya continues in the Reynolds Station area, located approximately 90 miles southwest of Louisville..
