WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Wis. (WBAY) – The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two children who tragically lost their lives in an ATV and car collision in Utica on Tuesday afternoon.

11-year-old Mesa Fredenhagen and 7-year-old Kennedi Harris, both from Oshkosh, were on the ATV when the accident occurred at around 12:30 p.m. on Bonnie View Road near Highway 44.

Following the crash, the 43-year-old female driver of the car and her 13-year-old son immediately dialed 911 and administered first aid. Despite their efforts, one of the children succumbed to their injuries at the scene, while the other was rushed to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries. Tragically, the second child also passed away later on.

The driver of the car is said to be cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation into the incident.

Law enforcement officials, along with the assistance of the Town of Utica Fire Department and First Responders, Oshkosh Fire Department paramedic unit, Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and Flight for Life, worked tirelessly to respond to the emergency and provide necessary support.
