The incident occurred on September 10, 2023, at In The City Lounge located at 196 Fairfield Ave. Following a shooting inside the establishment, two individuals were found to have sustained gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a local man, was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention. The second victim, a 23-year-old woman from New Haven, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Bridgeport Detective Kenneth McKenna was on a proactive assignment in downtown Bridgeport when he was alerted to the shooting by concerned individuals around 1:30 a.m. The Bridgeport Police Department’s Detective Bureau Identification Unit, as well as digital video specialists, were promptly dispatched to the scene to gather crucial evidence.

Suspects Apprehended

Tyquwane Gilchrist voluntarily surrendered himself at the Bridgeport Police Department headquarters on Tuesday in response to an outstanding arrest warrant linked to the September 2023 shooting. Gilchrist is facing charges of criminal possession of a pistol/revolver, with a bail amount of $200,000. He made his initial court appearance at Bridgeport Superior Court on the same day. It is worth noting that Gilchrist was previously a victim of a drive-by shooting outside an apartment complex in April 2023.

Micherlens Thelemaque, also known as “Mike T,” was served with an arrest warrant on May 23, charging him with third-degree assault and second-degree breach of peace in connection with the lounge shooting incident. Thelemaque was identified as one of the male shooting victims during the altercation, alongside the innocent New Haven woman.

Rajonne Blake, aged 24, was taken into custody on May 15 after being served with an arrest warrant for criminal attempt at second-degree assault related to the In The City shooting. Blake is being held on a $40,000 court-set bond. Additionally, police disclosed that Blake had previously sustained multiple gunshot wounds in a separate incident on November 6, 2023, in the vicinity of the 1200 block of Park Avenue.
