VERDIGRE, Neb. (KTIV) – A violent altercation in a remote area of Northeast Nebraska has left one individual hospitalized with serious injuries and another facing criminal charges.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Office reported that on the evening of Thursday, June 6, a stabbing incident occurred in a rural location northeast of Verdigre. Emergency services received a distress call at approximately 11:20 p.m. Upon arrival at the scene, paramedics discovered a 33-year-old male, identified as Jon Lucas from Creighton, Nebraska, suffering from multiple stab wounds. Lucas was swiftly transported to a nearby medical facility before being transferred to a hospital in Sioux Falls for further treatment.
Following an inquiry conducted by the sheriff’s office, it was determined that Lucas had been attacked by at least two assailants, one of whom has been identified as 20-year-old Kaden Spencer, also from Creighton. Spencer was subsequently apprehended and placed in custody at Knox County Jail on a charge of first-degree assault.
The sheriff’s office disclosed that potential charges are being considered against two additional individuals who may have been involved in the incident.
