Accident – Death – Obituary News :
NYE COUNTY, Nevada — A fatal crash occurred on U.S. Highway 6 in Nye County, Nevada, on June 5, resulting in the loss of a woman’s life.
Details of the Accident
The incident, which took place at mile marker 72, involved a black Jeep Wrangler that was travelling west on US-6. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the Jeep veered off the right side of the road and collided with a metal highway sign.
Subsequently, the driver attempted to correct the course by steering left. However, this led to an overcorrection, causing the Jeep to cross both lanes before flipping over south of the highway.
Victim’s Identity
The driver, identified as 69-year-old Jane Straight from Lancaster, South Carolina, sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash. She was airlifted from the scene to a nearby hospital, where she tragically succumbed to her injuries.
Investigation Ongoing
The Nevada Highway Patrol Northern Command East Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
