CHICOPEE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) – A man from Connecticut is facing legal consequences after being apprehended during a routine traffic stop that resulted in a drug-related arrest.
The incident occurred during the early hours of the morning on Friday, May 31, when detectives on a traffic assignment observed a vehicle allegedly exceeding the speed limit on Chicopee Street. Subsequently, a traffic stop was initiated, and the driver was identified as 51-year-old William Preston, a resident of Enfield, CT, who was reportedly operating the vehicle with a suspended driving license.
Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered a small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine, along with what appeared to be heroin.
As a result of the findings, Preston has been charged with multiple offenses, including driving with a suspended license, speeding, and possession of Class A and B controlled substances.
