BATTLE CREEK, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Battle Creek Police have apprehended two individuals in connection with an alleged breaking and entering incident at the abandoned Graphic Packaging Plant in the early hours of Monday morning.

Law enforcement authorities had been closely monitoring the defunct plant located at 79 East Fountain Street, following a series of reported break-ins and the theft of scrap metal valued at several thousand pounds over the past few weeks.

During the early hours of Monday, police officers observed the two suspects, a 35-year-old man from Battle Creek and a 40-year-old man from Ceresco, gaining unlawful entry to the premises at approximately 3:00 a.m.

Upon closer inspection, the suspects were found in the act of pilfering additional scrap metal from the site, leading to their prompt arrest by the authorities.

In a press release issued by the police department, it was emphasised that the former Graphic Packaging Plant is not abandoned and has contractors actively working on the premises. As such, unauthorised entry onto the property is strictly prohibited.
