The man, identified as Sterling Alavache, 36, was armed with a knife and claimed to have a bomb when he attempted to rob the bank on February 7.

In the 911 audio, Alavache can be heard screaming and expressing that he does not want to harm the hostages. The video shows law enforcement officers attempting to establish communication with Alavache, empathizing with him by mentioning their own families and urging him to communicate his thoughts and feelings.
