Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A homeless man was taken into custody on Sunday in Nashville after allegedly attacking a man who had been offering him assistance. The incident occurred on Hart Lane at around 8:45 a.m. when police were alerted to an assault taking place.

The victim, who had been providing shelter to the homeless man, identified as 68-year-old Ronald Rippetoe, reported that he had allowed Rippetoe to seek refuge in his apartment during rainy weather. However, the situation took a turn for the worse when Rippetoe became aggressive.

According to an affidavit, Rippetoe arrived at the apartment at 3 a.m. and requested entry. By 7 a.m., the victim asked him to leave due to his unruly behavior. Refusing to comply, Rippetoe then brandished a large knife and threatened the homeowner.

“I’ll harm you,” he reportedly uttered, waving the weapon menacingly. In a bid to defend himself, the victim used a milk crate to fend off Rippetoe, who eventually fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Rippetoe later claimed to officers that he had been the one under threat.

During the investigation, Rippetoe allegedly threw the knife he had wielded over a fenced area guarded by dogs. As a result, he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and evidence tampering, among other offences. He is currently being held in custody on a bail amount of $25,000.
