Accident – Death – Obituary News : Authorities in Ohio County are continuing their search for 8-month-old Miya Tucker, who has been missing for an undisclosed period. This troubling case has led to the arrest of five individuals, including Miya’s parents and two grandparents, although not all charges are directly related to the disappearance of the child. Here is a comprehensive timeline of events and all the information we have gathered so far.

Miya Tucker, with brown hair and green eyes, was last believed to be in the care of her parents, Cage C. Rudd and Tesla Tucker, both residing in Reynolds Station. However, during a welfare check, Miya was nowhere to be found. Kentucky State Police (KSP) are urging anyone with information about the missing child to contact them at 270-826-3312.

On June 5, a KSP trooper was alerted to the case of a missing child, later identified as Miya, who had not been seen by her family since the end of April. Law enforcement and the Kentucky Department of Community Based Services had been attempting to contact Miya’s parents, Tesla Tucker and Cage Rudd, for a welfare check in the days leading up to their arrest. The parents were eventually located at a motel in Owensboro, but Miya was not with them. Neither parent could provide any information on Miya’s whereabouts, and it was discovered that Miya’s maternal grandmother has custody of the couple’s other children.

During the arrest, Tucker and Rudd were found in possession of a significant amount of drugs. Tucker was discovered with suspected counterfeit pills containing fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine in her possession, while Rudd denied the presence of narcotics in the hotel room but was found with pills believed to contain fentanyl. Miya’s grandfather, Ricky Smith, was also present during the arrest and was found with a glass pipe containing methamphetamine.

Tucker, Rudd, and Smith were all charged with first-degree possession of controlled substances and abandonment of a minor. Additionally, Rudd faced charges of possession of marijuana and promoting contraband upon his booking at the Daviess County Detention Center. Court documents revealed that Rudd was serving a supervised diversion for previous drug-related charges.

On June 6, Tucker and Rudd faced additional charges of drug trafficking, child abuse, and engaging in organized crime. Smith was also charged with drug trafficking and possession, child abuse, possession of firearms as a convicted felon, and persistent felon offender due to his prior drug-related charges.

On June 9, Miya’s grandmother, Billie J. Smith, was arrested for second-degree assault stemming from a domestic violence incident in October 2023. While conducting a search for Miya, KSP troopers discovered Smith had an active warrant. During the search, Timothy L. Roach was also arrested for possession of a controlled substance and failing to have prescription drugs in a proper container.

The individuals involved have made several court appearances, and their cases are set to be heard in various courts in Ohio and Daviess County. The search for Miya Tucker continues as authorities piece together the events leading up to her disappearance..
