Florida Woman to Stand Trial for Allegedly Zipping Boyfriend into Suitcase

A woman from Florida has been ordered to face trial in October after being accused of killing her boyfriend by zipping him inside a suitcase. The incident took place in Winter County, Florida, in February 2020, resulting in the arrest of Sarah Boone, the girlfriend of the victim, Jorge Torres, Jr., who was 42 years old at the time. Boone was charged with second-degree murder by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the authorities, Torres tragically passed away after Boone allegedly zipped him inside a suitcase and left him unattended for several hours. Boone’s trial date has been set for October 7, as reported by various news outlets such as WESH, FOX 35 Orlando, and the Orlando Sentinel.

During the investigation, videos found on Boone’s phone revealed chilling footage of Torres attempting to free himself from the suitcase while Boone can be heard laughing and taunting him. The video shows a blue suitcase on the ground, moving from the inside, with Boone’s voice heard in the background.

In the video, Boone is heard making derogatory remarks towards Torres, accusing him of cheating and refusing to release him from the suitcase despite his pleas for help. The disturbing footage captured the tragic final moments of Torres’ life as he struggled to breathe and called out for help.

Boone allegedly claimed that Torres’ death was the result of a hide-and-seek game gone wrong, stating that she fell asleep while he was inside the suitcase and woke up to find him deceased. However, investigators found evidence to suggest otherwise, leading to Boone’s arrest and subsequent legal proceedings.

Boone has gone through multiple legal representatives in connection with the case over the past four years and has remained in custody without bond since 2020. Despite pleading not guilty to the charge of second-degree murder, Boone is set to stand trial in October to face the consequences of her alleged actions.
