(NEWS10) — A violent assault in Whitehall has led to the arrest of a 42-year-old woman and a 17-year-old individual, according to the New York State Police. Jessica Cleavland, 42, from Whitehall, and the 17-year-old suspect are facing multiple charges in connection to the incident.
The State Police responded to a residence in Whitehall on Thursday, May 30, following reports of an ongoing assault. Upon arrival, troopers discovered a severely injured victim at the scene. A thorough investigation revealed that Cleavland, the 17-year-old, and another suspect named Dylan Scoville, had arrived at the victim’s property without invitation. The victim, who knew the suspects, felt threatened by their presence and sought refuge inside their own home.
The suspects proceeded to force their way into the victim’s residence, where they carried out a violent assault before fleeing the scene. The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the attack. Cleavland was apprehended at her residence in Whitehall, while the 17-year-old was arrested while walking along State Route 4 in the area.
