LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Jemarcus Williams, aged 46, has been sentenced to 16-40 years in prison for causing the deaths of two Nevada State Troopers in a DUI crash last year. Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of DUI resulting in death during a court hearing in April. The tragic incident occurred on November 30, 2023, when Williams hit two Nevada State Police troopers who were conducting a roadside check on the I-15 shoulder.

The two troopers, Sergeant Michael Abbate and Trooper Alberto Felix, were fatally injured in the collision. Williams fled the scene, but police were able to locate his vehicle, along with one of the troopers’ badges inside. Williams later confessed to being the driver at the time of the crash.

During the sentencing on June 11, Judge Susan Johnson handed down a sentence of 8-20 years in prison for each count against Williams. The consecutive sentences ensure that Williams will serve a total of 16-40 years behind bars for his role in the tragic incident.
