Man Arrested in Connection with Boston Common Shooting

Boston police have apprehended a suspect in relation to a shooting incident that occurred on Monday night in Boston Common, leaving a man in critical condition. The individual in custody, identified as Dana Loder, a 30-year-old resident of Lynnfield, was found with a firearm at the scene of the shooting shortly after 10 p.m. The authorities have stated that Loder is currently facing charges related to firearms possession, drug possession, and resisting arrest.

Law enforcement officers were alerted to the shooting after hearing gunshots while patrolling the area of Tremont and Winter Streets. Upon arrival at the scene, they observed multiple individuals fleeing in different directions, including a suspicious man who appeared to be concealing an item in his waistband. This man, later identified as Loder, attempted to evade the police but was eventually apprehended near 131 Tremont St. during a chase.

Following Loder’s arrest, officers discovered a male victim with life-threatening gunshot wounds on Boston Common. The injured individual was promptly transported to a nearby hospital and is currently in critical condition. Homicide detectives have initiated an investigation into the incident to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
