Man from Pasadena faces charges of carjacking in Camarillo
A car belonging to a woman was taken forcefully in Camarillo last month outside a popular burger joint, only to be located in Los Angeles later on. The suspect, a 28-year-old man from Pasadena, has been charged with three serious felonies in connection with the incident.
The incident occurred when the suspect approached a 32-year-old woman from Ventura outside In-N-Out Burger on Ventura Boulevard at around 8:30 a.m. on May 17. Pretending to need her phone, he then proceeded to seize the keys to her vehicle and drive off in the stolen car, as confirmed by police officials.
Subsequently, the Los Angeles Police Department discovered the abandoned vehicle in the downtown area of the city, according to officials.
The suspect has been formally charged with carjacking, unauthorized use of a vehicle, and possession of a stolen vehicle. He is currently being held in custody at the Todd Road Jail near Santa Paula, with a bail amount set at £200,000.
The carjacking case was handled by the Camarillo Police Department, which functions under the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

A 19-year-old man from Oxnard was arrested and detained on suspicion of numerous firearm violations on Saturday.
Reports of an armed male outside a residence in the 1900 block of Pericles Place prompted Oxnard police to respond swiftly. Upon arrival, they encountered an individual matching the description provided by a caller, seated in a car parked along the curb at the specified location in a neighbourhood north of Oxnard College, as per officials.
Upon conducting a search of the vehicle, officers discovered four loaded handguns, with three of them being unregistered, along with multiple rounds of ammunition. Additionally, an empty handgun holster and a box of handgun ammunition were found on the sidewalk adjacent to the car.
The suspect was taken into custody and booked into the county jail. As of Sunday, he remains incarcerated with a bail amount set at £80,000, according to jail records.
