A Daggett man, Nathan Joseph Bedgood, aged 38, has been handed a 2 to 4-year prison sentence for assaulting a police officer in Menominee County. The incident took place on August 21, 2023, at W435 County Road 358, where Bedgood was involved in a violent altercation with law enforcement officers.

Bedgood was charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon on a police officer, as well as felonious assault and resisting and obstructing with injury, as confirmed by the Menominee County Prosecutor’s office.

According to official reports, Menominee County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a call regarding an “out of control” individual, later identified as Bedgood. Upon attempting to apprehend Bedgood, he brandished a knife and stabbed one of the deputies, causing serious injury.
