Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A tragic incident unfolded in Mumbai when a house collapse occurred at an under-construction building in Vikhroli West, claiming the lives of two individuals, including a 10-year-old boy. The incident took place at Kailas Business Park, near TATA Power House in the Park Site area on Sunday, June 9 at 11:10 pm.

The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) swiftly responded to the scene after receiving reports of the structural failure at the G+5 building. Upon arrival, firefighters were informed by the public that a portion of the parapet (iron beam) and a floor slab had collapsed, while another section remained precariously hanging. Immediate action was taken by the rescue team to remove the hazardous parts of the structure to prevent further danger.

During the rescue operation, it was revealed that an adult and a child had already been rushed to Rajawadi Hospital in a private vehicle before the arrival of the MFB. Tragically, both individuals, identified as 38-year-old Nagesh Ramchandra Reddy and 10-year-old Rohit Reddy, were declared dead on arrival at the hospital by Dr Nivedita.

Despite the grim outcome, the search operation continued as firefighters meticulously combed through the debris to ensure that no additional individuals were trapped. The collapse had transformed the construction site into a hazardous zone, prompting the rescue teams to work diligently to secure the area and protect the lives of nearby residents and workers.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of adhering to safety protocols in construction sites to prevent such tragic accidents from occurring. Authorities are conducting investigations to determine the cause of the collapse and take necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
