Accident – Death – Obituary News : The trial of Lee McKine, Jr., aged 33, commenced on Monday in Lubbock, Texas, with the selection of the jury. McKine stands accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Alexandria Garcia with an “AK-style pistol” after leaving a late-night establishment in west Lubbock County in 2022.

According to reports from EverythingLubbock.com, officers were summoned to Covenant Medical Center at 4:15 a.m. on September 17, where Garcia, who had sustained a gunshot wound, arrived by private vehicle. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Garcia succumbed to her injuries shortly after the authorities arrived at the scene.

A probable cause affidavit unveiled that a physical altercation occurred at the club near 50th Street and Research Boulevard. Following the altercation, Garcia and a group left the premises and were targeted with gunfire upon reaching the 4600 block of Marsha Sharp Freeway. The driver promptly rushed Garcia to the hospital upon discovering she had been shot.

Surveillance footage from near the club captured McKine brandishing an “AK-style pistol” before exiting the camera’s view. The video footage also depicted McKine reappearing on camera with the weapon in his possession. Court records suggest that multiple shots were fired out of the camera’s sight, based on the reactions of other individuals present.

Subsequently, multiple “AK casings” were recovered in the vicinity where McKine had been seen walking. The footage also showed McKine re-entering the camera’s view while still holding the firearm before fleeing the scene in a dark-colored Ford Mustang with two other individuals. McKine proceeded to follow the vehicle Garcia was in, firing additional rounds while on the Marsha Sharp Freeway, ultimately resulting in Garcia being struck.

McKine was apprehended at approximately 5:30 a.m. on the same day and transported to the Lubbock County Detention Center. He faces charges of murder, along with several unrelated offences, and remained in custody as of the latest update.
