SNELLVILLE, GA — Authorities have named the victim of a tragic shooting incident that occurred on Saturday evening in the 3500 block of Stone Mountain Highway.
Banchamlak Abuhay Bogale, aged 50, was fatally shot around 7:30 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene, according to a statement released by Gwinnett County Police on Monday.
The alleged perpetrator, identified as 67-year-old Abera Ayana from Stone Mountain, was apprehended by bystanders at the location, police disclosed.
Investigators have confirmed that the shooting was a result of a domestic dispute.
Ayana is facing charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, as per law enforcement officials.
