MARIANNA, Ark. — In a shocking turn of events, a Marianna couple has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the tragic death of a 30-year-old woman from Lexa.
Authorities from the Arkansas State Police’s (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division apprehended Dodge Pinegar, 24, and Shadee Edgin, 30, on June 7, 2024, following an intensive investigation into the murder of Ashley Monroe, 30, of Lexa.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office had reached out to the ASP for assistance in probing the homicide that took place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024.
According to reports, a local farmer stumbled upon the lifeless body of a woman while traversing a farm field road located off Lee County Road 706, situated to the north of Marianna. The victim was later identified as Ashley Monroe.
It is believed that Pinegar and Edgin were acquainted with Monroe prior to her untimely demise, although the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear at this time.
