MORGAN CO., Ala. (WAFF) – A man has been taken into custody following a tense standoff with deputies late on Sunday night.

The incident began when authorities from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office attempted to pull over a semi-truck that was reportedly driving recklessly on the northbound lane of I-65. The driver, later identified as Anthony Landrum, allegedly refused to stop until he reached the Tennessee River Bridge. Even then, he refused to comply with deputies’ orders to exit the vehicle.

After a prolonged standoff, law enforcement officers were eventually able to apprehend Landrum and place him under arrest. He is facing charges of attempting to elude law enforcement, reckless driving, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Landrum was subsequently booked into the Morgan County Jail, where he is being held on a $900 bond.
