The individual who tragically lost his life in a violent altercation at Lake Berryessa on Saturday evening has been named as Andrew Fabian Sandoval Garcia, a 39-year-old resident of Vallejo.
The altercation erupted at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Oak Shores Day Use area, a popular spot for beach activities, swimming, and shoreline fishing, according to the Napa County Sheriff’s Office.
In addition to the fatal shooting, three individuals sustained injuries from stabbings and physical assaults during the incident. Two of the injured parties were airlifted to hospitals in critical condition, with one being discharged the following day, while the other remains under medical care.
Investigation and Suspect Detainment
The circumstances surrounding the altercation are currently under investigation by the Napa Sheriff’s Detective Bureau, in collaboration with the Napa County Major Crimes Task Force, which includes the Napa Police Department and the Napa County District Attorney’s Office.
According to Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Henry Wofford, the brawl involved multiple groups of individuals engaged in simultaneous confrontations. A male suspect has been apprehended and is expected to be formally charged and incarcerated in the coming days.
