Alejandro Araujo : “Orosi High Student Identified as Shaver Lake Drowning Victim”

Authorities have confirmed that Alejandro Araujo, a 16-year-old junior at Orosi High School, is the tragic victim of a drowning incident at Shaver Lake. The news has sent shockwaves through the community, with the school offering counseling services to help students cope with the loss.

The Fresno County Sheriff’s Office reported that the incident occurred just before 1:00 pm on Sunday when Araujo was on a pontoon boat with a friend’s family. Despite wearing a flotation device, the teenager found himself in distress when it separated, causing him to go underwater.

After a harrowing rescue effort, Araujo was located approximately 15 feet underwater. Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, he tragically did not survive.
