Yao Yuheng : “Singaporean Man Arrested in Thailand for Drug Possession”

The 34-year-old Singaporean, identified as Yao Yuheng, was apprehended on 7 June during an undercover police operation in Pattaya, Thailand. The Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) conducted the operation at an abandoned department store in Bangkok, where officers posed as buyers.

During the operation, Yao was found in possession of illegal items inside his car. These items included 90 pots of a new drug called “Pod K”, which is a mixture of e-cigarette liquid with drugs like methamphetamine and ketamine. Pod K can be consumed through inhalation, similar to using an e-cigarette.

Yao, who resides in Samut Prakan Province, was charged with distribution and possession of serious class 1 narcotics, as well as possession of class 2 narcotics for sale. These substances are considered harmful to the public.

The Singaporean was transferred to another division of the NSB for further investigation and legal proceedings. Photos shared by Khaosod showed the items seized during the operation, along with a photocopy of what appeared to be a Singapore pink identity card.

This incident highlights the ongoing issue of drug-related offences in the region. It serves as a reminder of the importance of strict enforcement and collaboration between law enforcement agencies to combat drug trafficking and distribution.
