Early on Sunday morning, emergency services in Lockport received a distress call reporting a vehicle collision with a residential property at 4:39 a.m.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies found that an SUV had veered off the road, collided with a home, overturned, and then struck a utility pole.
The driver of the SUV had fled the scene on foot but was later identified as Timothy Outten, a 26-year-old resident of Gasport. A search team located him a short distance from the property and he was subsequently taken to ECMC for a medical evaluation.
Fortunately, the homeowner who was inside the house at the time of the incident escaped unharmed.
Following the investigation, Outten was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He was released from ECMC on appearance tickets.
