Accident – Death – Obituary News : A tragic incident unfolded on Friday night on the Ahmedpur-Andhori road near Borgaon Pati, as a 38-year-old truck driver named Sachin Kondiba Munde was crushed under a bus. Police suspect that this may have been a case of suicide, following a video he had made where he claimed he would be “no more” if BJP leader Pankaja Munde lost the Lok Sabha polls from Beed.
The victim, a resident of Yestar in Latur’s Ahmedpur, was pronounced dead at the scene by officials from the Kingaon police station. The bus driver involved in the incident has been arrested, and an investigation is currently underway to determine if it was indeed a deliberate act or a tragic accident.
The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation bus has been seized as part of the ongoing probe, according to Assistant Inspector Bahuasaheb Khandare of the Kingaon police station. Sachin Kondiba Munde, who was single and lived with his parents and brother, had gained attention for a video he released where he ominously stated that he would not survive if Pankaja Munde lost the election.
In a closely contested battle, Pankaja Munde lost the Beed Lok Sabha poll to Congress’ Bajrang Sonawane by a margin of 6,553 votes. The results of the Beed election were the final ones to be announced by the Election Commission in the early hours of June 5. Following the defeat, Sachin Munde’s family noticed a change in his behaviour and a sense of despondency, culminating in the tragic incident that took his life.
The funeral rites for Sachin Kondiba Munde were conducted on Saturday morning in his village, as his loved ones mourned the loss of a man whose life was cut short in the aftermath of a closely watched political contest.
