Detectives in Deptford are urging members of the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding a recent murder in the area.
On Thursday, 6 June, police received a call about a stabbing incident on Carteret Way, SE8, at around 10:35pm. Despite efforts from officers and the London Ambulance Service, the victim, identified as 21-year-old Robert Robinson, tragically passed away at the scene.
DI Neil Tovey, leading the investigation, described the crime as “horrific” and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in solving the case. He urged residents to share any details they may have about the events leading up to the attack on Robert.
The incident occurred on a residential street, where many people were likely to have been present. DI Tovey stressed that even the smallest piece of information could be crucial in providing justice for Robert’s family.
A post-mortem examination revealed that Robert’s cause of death was multiple incised wounds. Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, with one of them, a 50-year-old, being bailed pending further inquiries, while a 44-year-old remains in police custody.
