Knox County Sheriff’s Office officials have confirmed that a tragic accident occurred in Emison, Indiana, resulting in the death of a teenager who was struck by a train while attempting to cross the railroad tracks.
The incident, which took place on Joseph Emison Road, involved an SUV that was travelling eastbound when it attempted to cross the railway tracks and was hit by a southbound train.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 18-year-old Noah Strange, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Two juvenile passengers who were also in the SUV were rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in serious condition.
Emergency services, including the sheriff’s office, fire crews, and medical personnel, responded to the scene following reports of the car/train collision. Despite their efforts, Noah Strange succumbed to his injuries.
An ongoing investigation is being conducted to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic accident. The authorities are working to establish the sequence of events and any contributing factors that may have played a role in the collision.
