The initial attack occurred around 1:45 PM on Friday, with a 45-year-old woman falling victim to a shark while swimming at Watersound Beach. The woman sustained severe bites that led to significant trauma in her pelvis and abdomen, along with the unfortunate amputation of the lower part of her left arm. Presently, the woman remains in critical condition.
The second attack, believed to involve Gribbin and Faust, transpired later that day at Seacrest Beach around 2:56 PM, approximately 4 miles away from the first site. In this instance, one victim suffered injuries to both upper and lower extremities, necessitating tourniquets to control blood loss. The other victim sustained bites to their right foot. Fortunately, both individuals are currently reported to be in stable condition.
Following the distressing events, the Panama City Beach Police Department and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office conducted an aerial survey of the area, revealing a high presence of bull sharks near the scenes. Consequently, the beach has been closed as a precautionary measure.
