Manchester, Conn — The driver responsible for a hit-and-run incident that left a teenage boy injured while riding an electric scooter in Manchester has been identified and arrested, announced the town’s police department on Sunday.

Catherine Fryer, a 26-year-old resident of Hartford, is now facing multiple charges in connection with the incident, including evading responsibility, risk of injury to a minor, operating under suspension, misuse of marker plate, and insufficient insurance.

The incident took place on Friday morning when authorities were alerted to a collision between a vehicle and an electric scooter at the intersection of West Middle Turnpike and New State Road at 6:57 a.m. The 15-year-old victim, who was on his way to school at the time, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Catherine Fryer, fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. Thanks to assistance from the local community, investigators were able to locate and apprehend Fryer, who is now being held on a $100,000 bond. She is scheduled to appear at Manchester Superior Court on July 8.
