Deadly Shooting at Lake Berryessa Leaves One Dead and Two Injured

(KRON) – The victim of a fatal shooting following a violent altercation in the 5500 block of Knoxville Road at Napa County’s Lake Berryessa has been identified as 39-year-old Vallejo resident Andres Fabian Sandoval Garcia.

The tragic incident took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, where responding deputies were met with a scene described as “chaotic.” Despite their best efforts, Garcia succumbed to his injuries at the scene, having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

Deputies reported three additional victims with injuries stemming from physical assaults and stabbing. Two of these victims were urgently airlifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Initial investigations revealed that a confrontation between two groups escalated into a violent melee. Tragically, one individual retrieved a firearm from a vehicle and fatally shot Garcia. The alleged perpetrator fled the scene but was apprehended later while receiving medical attention at a hospital.

The identity of the suspect will be disclosed once they are formally booked into custody, as per the sheriff’s office.
