Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A 23-year-old woman suspected of being involved in the murders of her three housemates in Virginia has been apprehended after a high-speed chase on a highway in upstate New York, according to police reports on Friday.

Alyssa Jane Venable had been the subject of a search by authorities following the discovery of the bodies of two men and one woman in Fredericksburg, Virginia. The victims, who were found dead from “upper body trauma” during a welfare check conducted by the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office, were identified as Robert John McGuire, aged 77; Gregory Scott Powell, aged 60; and Carol Anne Reese, aged 65.

Following further investigation and evidence collection, it was determined that one of the housemates was responsible for the brutal killings. The suspect was identified as Alyssa Jane Venable, who was wanted on charges of three counts of second-degree murder and a firearms offence.

High-Speed Chase and Arrest

New York State Police officers managed to apprehend Venable on Thursday evening, more than 300 miles away from Fredericksburg. She was driving a grey Honda Civic on Interstate 86 when troopers attempted to stop her. However, Venable refused to comply and a chase ensued, reaching speeds of up to 100 mph. The State Police utilized a tire deflation device to bring the Civic to a halt, resulting in a crash. The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office assisted in the operation.

Venable sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital for treatment. She is currently being held at the Steuben County jail, with extradition proceedings set to follow, according to the State Police.

Both the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office and the State Police have refrained from commenting on a possible motive for the crime.
