A man from Hugheston, West Virginia, is fighting for his life after a violent assault at a Kanawha County business. The incident, which took place at RJ’s Recycling on East Dupont Avenue, has left 42-year-old Billy Wayne Palmer with life-threatening injuries.
The West Virginia State Police received a distressing call at 8:08 pm on June 5, prompting troopers to rush to the scene. Upon arrival, they discovered Palmer lying on the ground with severe lacerations to his face and head.
Unfortunately, the perpetrator had already fled the area by the time law enforcement arrived. However, through their investigation, the troopers were able to identify the suspect as 72-year-old William Holt Cobb from Winfield, West Virginia.
Following further investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Cobb, and he was apprehended without incident. Meanwhile, Palmer was rushed to CAMC General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
