A father in Cleveland, Ohio, is facing charges after allegedly abandoning his 10-month-old child in a car while he was inside a casino.
According to Cleveland Police Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz, officers discovered the infant in a parking garage, where the child had been left unattended for over an hour and a half.
The father, a 27-year-old man whose name has not been disclosed, was reportedly gambling at the JACK casino in Cleveland while his child was left alone in the vehicle.
Following the incident, authorities took the baby to the hospital for a precautionary assessment, as reported by WHIO. Fortunately, the child did not sustain any injuries and was later reunited with her family.
The father was subsequently arrested on charges of child endangerment and permitting child abuse. While formal charges have yet to be filed, the man is currently in police custody.
It remains unclear how law enforcement officers located the abandoned child in the parking garage.
