In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 16-year-old student named Sahil, hailing from Jaral village in Chowk Baradata Panchayat of Sarkaghat subdivision, Mandi district, met with a tragic fate when he drowned in Rissa Khad on Friday afternoon. The young boy, the son of Kamlesh Kumar, had a promising future ahead of him.
Reports suggest that Sahil, a dedicated 12th-class student, had gone to play cricket with his friends in a field along the banks of Rissa Khad. After the game, they decided to take a dip in the nearby ravine to cool off. Unfortunately, during the swimming session, Sahil encountered difficulties and eventually drowned in the water, leaving his friends in a state of shock and disbelief.
The villagers, upon learning of the distressing incident, wasted no time in informing the local authorities. The police promptly arrived at the scene, retrieved Sahil’s lifeless body, and transferred it to the Civil Hospital Sarkaghat for a post-mortem examination.
