BIHAR: A 23-year-old man was found brutally murdered in Belawan village, Bihar’s Kaimur district, in a shocking incident that has left the community reeling. The victim, identified as Pankaj Kumar, was discovered dead with his throat slit at a temple in Sonara village near Belawan on Saturday morning, as confirmed by the local police.
The tragic incident is believed to be linked to an alleged love affair that Pankaj Kumar had with a girl from the same village. The girl had recently gotten married in Maharashtra, leading to speculation about the motive behind the heinous crime.
Pankaj Kumar’s family became concerned when he failed to return home on Friday evening. His body was eventually found by family members on Saturday morning, triggering a wave of shock and grief in the community.
Upon receiving reports of the murder, the police swiftly responded to the scene and began gathering statements from the deceased’s relatives. The family demanded justice and refused to allow the body to be removed until the culprits were apprehended.
After intervention by senior officials, the body was taken to the Bhabua Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The authorities have assured the family of swift action against those responsible for the brutal killing.
Local residents informed the victim’s family about the incident early on Saturday morning, alleging the involvement of the girl’s family in the murder. The victim’s paternal aunt recounted his last moments, stating, “He left around 4 pm, bought vegetables, and sent them home with a child. When he didn’t return, we searched for him until midnight, assuming he was with friends.”
Bhabua SDPO Shiv Shankar Kumar revealed that the youth was murdered due to a love affair, and two individuals have been arrested in connection with the crime. “As per information received by us, the youth was murdered in the temple premises on Friday night. Two suspected individuals have been arrested by us. Further probe is underway,” said the SDPO.
