Accident – Death – Obituary News : Albert Lea, MN (KROC-AM News)- Tragedy struck early Saturday morning in Albert Lea, Minnesota, as a fatal two-vehicle collision claimed the life of a young man. The incident occurred on Interstate 90 in Freeborn County around 1:40 a.m.

According to the state crash report, a car and a semi were involved in the collision about a mile east of the I-90/I-35 interchange in Albert Lea. The car driver, identified as 24-year-old Oscar Antonio Ramirez from Albert Lea, was pronounced dead at the scene. Ramirez, unfortunately, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, and it is unclear whether alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The driver of the semi, 35-year-old Murad Bazarov from New Jersey, miraculously escaped the collision unharmed. The state report confirmed that Bazarov was not under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office and Hayward Fire Department were among the emergency responders who arrived at the scene of the fatal crash to provide assistance.
