A man wanted for fraud was apprehended by authorities in Cass County, Missouri, after he was caught speeding on a highway and attempted to evade law enforcement officials.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, the incident occurred on Friday, June 7, at approximately 5 p.m. when deputies tried to pull over a vehicle for exceeding the speed limit near 58 Highway in Strasburg.

The driver, later identified as 32-year-old Nicholas Davis, chose to flee from the officers instead of stopping his vehicle. He eventually abandoned the car at 179th and Highway E before attempting to escape on foot.

Following a brief search, a K-9 Unit successfully located Davis. It was revealed that he had an outstanding warrant for misdemeanor fraud in Kansas City. Davis is currently in custody, awaiting formal charges.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the course of the pursuit and arrest.
