Chief Layrisson has announced the arrest of Kirk Arrington, a 59-year-old individual, in connection with a case of Second Degree Murder and Illegal Use of Weapons in Ponchatoula.
On the evening of June 6, at around 9:30 p.m., law enforcement officers were alerted to gunshots being fired in the 500 block of North 3rd Street. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered a victim, identified as Gregory Harvey, Jr., with a gunshot wound. Harvey was promptly transported to North Oaks Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Kirk Arrington, who was present at the scene, was apprehended and subsequently taken into custody. He has since been booked and transferred to the Tangipahoa Parish Jail. The investigation into this tragic incident is currently ongoing.
Chief Layrisson expressed his gratitude to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Hammond Police Department for their cooperation and support in this matter.
