Accident – Death – Obituary News : Bensalem fire investigators have concluded that the tragic fire that occurred on Friday evening at a mobile home park, resulting in the death of one man and injuring a firefighter, was accidental.
The fire broke out shortly after 5 p.m. at the Top of the Ridge mobile home park located off Gibson Road. The blaze quickly engulfed the home where it originated and spread to neighbouring mobile homes, according to Bensalem Fire Battalion Chief Robert Sponheimer.
Despite the intensity of the fire, firefighters were able to extinguish it before it caused further damage. Tragically, upon entering the home, they discovered the lifeless body of a 45-year-old resident named Joseph Stadler. The cause of his death is still under investigation.
An initial examination of the scene revealed that the fire originated near a couch in the living room of Stadler’s home. However, further details regarding the cause of the fire have not yet been disclosed.
Fortunately, no other residents of the mobile home park sustained injuries as a result of the fire. One firefighter did require medical attention for smoke inhalation but has since been treated and released from the hospital, as confirmed by Sponheimer.
Regrettably, Stadler’s home was completely destroyed in the fire, while two other homes suffered minor damage. Additionally, one family was displaced from their home due to significant damage caused by the flames.
The devastating incident has left the community in shock, and investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the fire are ongoing. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and loved ones of Joseph Stadler during this difficult time.
