A tragic incident unfolded in the early hours of Thursday morning on Airline Drive in the Greater Heights area, as 36-year-old Damon Price was fatally shot while on duty. The Houston Police Department reported that Price, whose responsibility was to inspect delivery trucks at the building, encountered two individuals attempting to steal a golf cart. A confrontation ensued, leading to one of the suspects firing multiple shots at Price, leaving him critically injured on the ground in the parking lot.

The suspects, captured on surveillance footage wearing hoods, quickly fled the scene, leaving behind four shell casings. Fortunately, law enforcement was able to make an arrest on Friday, charging one of the suspects with capital murder. The individual is currently in custody at the Harris County Detention Center, following a dramatic turn of events where he was brought to the police station by his own mother to surrender.

Despite the arrest of one suspect, the second perpetrator remains at large, as investigations continue. ABC13 sources reveal that the suspect who is in custody will be making his initial court appearance on Monday, June 10, facing the consequences of his actions at such a young age.
