Accident – Death – Obituary News : A recent Harrison County grand jury has announced 46 indictments, including the case of a woman accused of setting fire to an occupied home on Norwood Street, and a disgruntled customer charged with injuring an elderly woman at the Waffle House eatery.

**Arson Case**

Christie Renae Campbell, a 46-year-old woman from Longview, has been indicted by the grand jury in connection with the August 2022 arson of a home on Norwood Street. The indictment alleges that on August 16, 2022, Campbell intentionally ignited a fire using an accelerant to damage or destroy a habitation in Marshall, an incorporated city or town.

Campbell, also known as Christy Ford or Christie McCrey, was arrested by the Marshall Police Department in March 2023 on charges of arson. The arrest came after officials reported that she had thrown a Molotov cocktail at an occupied home on Norwood Street in August 2022. Marshall Fire Chief Reggie Cooper commended the extensive investigation that led to Campbell’s arrest, highlighting the potential dangers of the arson incident.

**Assault on Elderly Woman**

In another indictment, Ashley Deshun Evans, a 39-year-old Marshall resident, has been charged with injuring an elderly woman at a local Waffle House. The indictment alleges that Evans intentionally caused bodily harm to a person over the age of 65 by striking her on January 9.

According to the probable cause report, Evans engaged in a confrontation at the Waffle House, where she allegedly threw items and struck the elderly woman. Surveillance footage from the restaurant captured the incident, showing Evans throwing a glass sugar dispenser and hitting the victim on the head. The victim suffered bruising as a result of the assault.

**Aggravated Assault and Other Charges**

Additionally, the grand jury indicted Breon Dushun Wright, a 37-year-old Marshall resident, for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, accident involving injury, and injury to a child with intent to cause bodily harm. The indictment states that on March 12, Wright caused bodily harm to a woman by striking her vehicle, leading to injuries to the driver and a young child in the car.

The probable cause report details the incident, where Wright allegedly struck his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle while she and her children were inside. He then reportedly threw a bicycle through the car’s window, causing a cut to the child’s leg.

**Other Indictments**

The grand jury also handed down indictments for various offences, including driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest, theft, burglary, assault, and other criminal activities. The individuals indicted come from different cities such as Carthage, Longview, Texarkana, Shreveport, and Detroit, among others.

These indictments reflect the commitment of law enforcement agencies in Harrison County to pursue justice and hold individuals accountable for their actions. The cases will now proceed through the legal system, where the defendants will have the opportunity to defend themselves against the charges brought against them..
