A 19-year-old student of National Law University, Delhi, tragically lost his life after being struck by a shooting stone in Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district, as reported by the police on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Akshat Dev, hailed from Gandhinagar in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district.

The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday evening when a group of 13 students from the National Law University visited Ashwani Khad and proceeded towards a nearby waterfall for some leisure time.

While the group was enjoying the natural beauty at the waterfall, a large stone dislodged from the cliff and struck Akshat on the head, causing severe injuries and leading to unconsciousness due to excessive bleeding.

He was immediately rushed to the Government Regional Hospital in Solan, where medical professionals pronounced him dead upon arrival.

Police Investigation Underway

Superintendent of Police Gaurav Singh from Solan confirmed the incident and stated that a thorough investigation is currently in progress to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.

This heartbreaking incident serves as a stark reminder of the unpredictable nature of natural environments and the importance of safety precautions while exploring such areas.
