A 14-year-old girl has been charged in connection with four robberies that took place on the South Side of Chicago, according to the city’s police department.

The young teen faces four counts of robbery and four counts of aggravated battery to a transit employee, police officials confirmed.

Following an investigation into a series of robberies that occurred on CTA property in May, authorities issued an arrest warrant for the girl. She was apprehended on Friday by members of the Bureau of Counter-Terrorism Mass Transit Team in the vicinity of the first block of East Roosevelt Road.

One of the incidents took place on May 6, when a 23-year-old woman was reportedly assaulted and robbed at around 8:30 p.m. in the first block of West Cermak Road.

Subsequently, on May 10, three additional victims were targeted in separate incidents. The first robbery on May 10 occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. in the first block of West 79th Street, where a 29-year-old man was assaulted and robbed. Shortly after midnight, a 22-year-old woman fell victim to a similar attack in the first block of West 95th Street. Finally, in the early hours of the morning, a 21-year-old woman was assaulted and robbed in the first block of West Cermak Road around 2:15 a.m.

The 14-year-old suspect is currently in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings in connection with the alleged crimes.
