ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A crash involving a bus left two people injured this morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 7, at the intersection of North L Street and West Jordan Street.
Location of the Crash:
The crash took place at the intersection of North L Street and West Jordan Street in Goulding, Florida. The area where the incident occurred is a busy intersection with residential properties nearby.
Vehicles Involved:
The crash involved two vehicles:
- An Escambia County Transit Bus: The bus was driven by a 62-year-old man from Pensacola and had two passengers on board, an 18-year-old female and a 58-year-old male, both from Pensacola.
- A Gray Ford Explorer Sport Trac: The Ford was driven by a 56-year-old male from Pensacola.
The FHP reported that the crash occurred when the bus, travelling north on North L Street towards West Jordan Street, failed to yield to oncoming traffic. As a result, the bus entered the intersection, colliding with the Gray Ford Explorer Sport Trac.
The impact caused the Ford to roll over into the front yard of a nearby home off of West Jordan Street.
Injuries and Citations:
Following the crash, the driver of the Ford was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. A passenger on the bus, a 58-year-old man, was also taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Reports indicate that the driver of the bus was cited for failure to yield at the intersection.
