Usha Rani : “59-Year-Old Man Arrested for Stranglings in Uppal”

Hyderabad: Authorities have apprehended a 59-year-old man on June 5 in connection with the murder of a woman in Uppal. The victim, identified as Usha Rani, 55, lived alone at her residence.

Reports suggest that the accused, Satyanarayana, a real estate agent, had borrowed money from the victim. When she went to his house to demand repayment, a heated argument ensued, which eventually turned into a physical altercation.

In a fit of rage, Satyanarayana allegedly strangled Usha Rani to death using a charging wire and then covered her face with plastic. Days later, the foul smell from the property caught the attention of neighbours, leading to the discovery of the deceased. The authorities were promptly notified.

Investigation and Arrest

Following the incident, officials from Medipally police station conducted a thorough investigation. Speaking with Siasat.com, a police spokesperson stated, “The accused fled to Bangalore and disposed of the victim’s phone in a pond. However, after reviewing CCTV footage, we were able to identify Satyanarayana and apprehend him in Bangalore.”

The spokesperson further mentioned, “A case has been registered against the accused under sections 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code.”
