A man with an active felony probation violation warrant was apprehended by authorities in Cass County on Thursday following a pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, deputies observed a vehicle travelling northbound on Interstate 49 displaying a stolen Missouri temporary license plate. Upon noticing law enforcement, the suspect attempted to evade capture, leading to a pursuit that commenced just after 5 p.m.

The chase came to a halt in the vicinity of S. Madison St. and Preakness Dr. in Raymore after a tire deflation device was deployed, causing one of the vehicle’s tires to puncture. Deputies then utilised a grappler to immobilise the vehicle and apprehend the suspect.

The driver of the stolen vehicle was identified as 29-year-old Trenton Lane. Lane, who was found to have an active felony probation violation warrant, is currently being held in custody at the Cass County Jail.

Further investigation revealed that not only the stolen vehicle, but also its license plate and an additional license plate recovered from inside the vehicle, were reported stolen from Kansas City, Mo., as confirmed by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities have indicated that charges stemming from Thursday’s incident are still pending as the investigation continues.
